DIRECTIONS FOR USE SQUIRRELS/CHIPMUNKS

Important!: Use Shake-Away SPARINGLY. Shake-Away is most effective if it is applied lightly to the target area. For best results, Follow Directions for application, below.

How Shake-Away Works: Shake-Away works on critter’s instinctual fear of lurking predators. By applying Shake-Away you are mimicking a predator’s habit of “marking” their territory. Based on their inborn instinctual fear of predators, your unwanted critters are persuaded to change behavior and find new shelter and/or a new food source. Be sure to follow directions closely. Allow up to 2-3 weeks to see results.

Frequency of Application: Apply Shake-Away granules twice a week for the first two weeks, then twice a month for maintenance. Sprinkle Shake-Away granules lightly around your garden plants, flowerbed, bushes or trees.

How to Apply in Bird feeders: To protect your bird feeder place Shake-Away inside sections of nylon stockings. We call these “Stocking Balls”. Each 28.5 oz container of Shake-Away makes up to 28-29 “stocking balls” that can be easily hung from your birdfeeder. To learn more about creating Stocking Balls click here.

How to Apply in Gardens-Flowerbeds: Lightly sprinkle Shake-away granules around plants of your garden or flowerbed. Shake-Away granules can also be sprinkled lightly around bulbs, bushes, flowers and trees for maximum coverage. For best results, us Shake-Away sparingly.

How to Apply with Digging/Burrowing Animals: Place one (1) teaspoon of Shake-Away granules into every hole you find in your yard, garden, flowerbeds, along foundations, etc.

Inside and Under Buildings: Place an ounce (rounded Tablespoon) of Shake-away granules on a paper plate. Place one plate for at least every 10x10 area (100 sq. ft.) where small critters are getting in. Replace every four to six weeks or as needed. Be sure to “plug” the areas that the critters are entering after they leave.

“Hard to Get To” Areas: Inside and Under Buildings (Garages and Sheds): Shake-Away works great inside sections of nylon stockings. We call these “Stocking Balls”. Each 28.5 oz container of Shake-Away makes up to 28-29 “stocking balls” that can be “tossed” into place. Stocking Balls can also be used on bird feeders.

To utilize this tip:

1.    Cut up nylon stockings into about 6 inch sections.

2.    Tie off one end and place a “golf ball sized” portion of granules inside the stocking.

3.    Tie off the other end.

4.    Toss these “stocking balls” into (under the areas you are treating), or hang from your birdfeeder.

5.    Place (toss one “stocking ball” for about every 10 x 10 area (100 sq. ft.)

6.    Replace every four to six weeks or as needed. Be sure to “plug” all areas that the critters are exiting after they leave!

COVERAGE AREA:

28.5 ounce container:  Our 28.5 ounce size of Shake-Away granules is appropriate for gardens, flowerbeds or landscaping areas of up to 1,425 square feet for up to 6 weeks(see "Frequency of Application" above). A 20 ounce container will provide up to 6 applications for a 1,425 square foot area when applied as directed. Keep in mind that Shake-Away should be applied lightly 2 times a week for the first two weeks and once every other week thereafter. You will receive up to five feet of protection on each side of the granules when applied directly to the ground. 

4 Pound sized container: Our 4 Pound size is appropriate for gardens, flowerbeds or landscaping areas of up to 3250 square feet for up to 6 weeks (see "Frequency of Application" above). A 4 Pound container will provide up to 6 applications for a 3250 square foot area when applied as directed.

12 Pound sized container:  Our 12 Pound size is appropriate for areas of up to 10,000 square feet for up to 6 weeks (see "Frequency of Application" above). The 12 Pound container will provide up to 6 applications for a 10,000 square foot area when applied as directed.
